Crowder's Creek Pump Station and Equalization Basin
Design of a 1.5 MGD triplex submersible pump station, a rotary grinding system on the influent flow, an emergency generator package, a building enclosure for electrical gear, controls and instrumentation, effluent flow metering, a bridge crane for easy pump removal and SCADA equipment that allows the new station to be fully integrated into the County’s existing SCADA system. The equalization basin is a 400,000-gallon concrete structure complete with one mixer and two aerators. Due to the project’s proximity to Crowder’s Creek and Lake Wylie, an extra measure of spill protection was achieved by constructing a secondary containment area that would accept many days of sewage flow in the unlikely event that the equalization basin ever overflowed.
