Charlotte Avenue and Marydale Lane Stormwater Improvements
Design, permitting, bidding and construction administration for the replacement of an existing 60” culvert crossing Charlotte Avenue and a 48” culvert crossing Marydale Lane. During the design process, it was determined that the improvements were not feasible due to an undersized culvert downstream which proved to be too cost prohibitive to replace. Because of the downstream limitations, the culverts could not be adequately increased in size without having adverse impacts on an apartment building located downstream. As a result, the scope of the project was shifted to focus on creating storage in the system. A detention pond was constructed on two vacant lots that were purchased by the City. The project also included modifying an existing stone wall lined creek channel by removing walls and regrading the slopes to increase storage.
