Traffic Operations Project Manager

Keck & Wood is currently seeking a Traffic Operations Project Manager for GDOT, local government and traffic signal contractor projects. Responsibilities will include project management, business development, client management, staff management and mentoring. Project assignments would include completion of traffic signal optimization, traffic signal data analysis, traffic signal turn ons and documentation of traffic signal activities, etc. The Traffic Operations Project Manager will work primarily in the office but will occasionally travel to project sites, as needed. Field work may require working in inclement weather and walking extensively.
Project Management duties will include:
- Managing scope, schedule and budget
- Coordinating with the client, consultants and design staff
- Preparing monthly invoicing for assigned projects
Business development duties will include:
- Writing proposals, defining scope, determining schedule, estimating manhours, estimating fee, coordinating with sub-consultants on scope and fee
- Negotiating fees
- Identifying business opportunities
- Attending conferences
- Visiting clients and potential clients
- Developing teaming relationships
Client management will include:
- Regular client visits
- Submitting monthly progress reports for assigned projects
- Attending client functions when appropriate
- Serving on committees with client
Staff management and mentoring will include:
- Maintaining sufficient backlog for staff utilization
- Performing annual reviews for assigned staff
- Recommending staff pay adjustments and advancement
- Mentoring less experienced staff
Job Requirements:
- BS Civil Engineering, or equivalent
- Two years of experience as a Project Manager
- Six years plus of experience in Traffic Engineering
- Georgia PE certification, required
- Experience with Traffic Signal software (MaxTime, MaxView, etc)
- Experience with GDOT programs, required
- Experience with signal contractors, desirable
