Traffic Operations Engineer
Duluth, GA
Keck & Wood is currently seeking a Traffic Operations Engineer to assist with state and local government projects out of our Duluth, GA office. Responsibilities for this position will focus on project delivery and staff development. Project assignments would include completion of traffic signal optimization projects, performing traffic signal data analysis on isolated intersections and coordinated signal systems, and the preparation of report documents and memos. The Traffic Operations Engineer will work primarily in the office but will occasionally travel to project sites, as needed. Field work may require working in inclement weather and walking extensively.
Project Delivery duties will include:
- Performing timing evaluations on isolated intersections and coordinated signal systems
- Assisting senior staff with signal timing development, implementation, and fine-tuning for isolated and coordinated signal systems
- Attending client meetings to provide project updates for project team
- Coordination of project assignments with engineering staff and technicians within the Traffic group
Staff development duties will include:
- Assisting with the development of internal training materials
- Developing “How-To” documents explaining how processes and software can be used effectively
- Assisting in the technical development of future hires and interns within the traffic operations discipline
Job Requirements:
- BS Civil Engineering, or equivalent
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a traffic operations position
- Experience with Traffic Signal software (MaxTime, MaxView, etc)
- Familiarity with data platforms such as ATSPM and RITIS
- Working knowledge of Synchro/SimTraffic
- Experience with GDOT programs, preferred
- Experience with signal contractors, desirable
