Roadway Engineer

Duluth, GA

Keck & Wood is currently seeking a Roadway Engineer for GDOT and local government roadway design projects. Responsibilities will focus on project delivery and staff development. Project assignments would include design of high speed highways, local streets, pedestrian facilities, and storm water systems. Candidate will work primarily in the office (can be a remote employee) but will occasionally travel to project sites for construction review and contract administration. Field work may require working in inclement weather and walking extensively.

Project Delivery duties will include:

  • Performing roadway design duties for successful delivery of our projects
  • Assisting senior staff with internal project planning and task management
  • Attending client meetings to provide updates for project team
  • Coordination of project assignments with engineering staff within the Transportation Practice

Staff development will include:

  • Assist with the development of internal training materials
  • Develop “How-To” documents explaining how processes and software can be used effectively ‚Äč
  • Assisting in the technical development of future hires and interns within the roadway discipline

Job Requirements:

  • BS Civil Engineering, or equivalent
  • Minimum of four years of experience in a roadway design position
  • Ability to obtain Georgia PE certification required
  • Experience with Microstation, InRoads and OpenRoads software required
  • Experience in Interstate highway design category desirable
  • Experience in roundabout intersection projects desirable‚Äč
