Our Project Managers are our foremost representative to our clients, and this role is a blend of leadership, management, relationship building and mentoring. Project assignments range from site development, parks and recreation, stormwater, bicycle and pedestrian facilities to community planning and development plan reviews.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys being part of a collaborative team, is motivated to provide unsurpassed service as a trusted advisor to our clients, and can serve as a strong leader to mentor and develop a high-performance team. Reporting to our SC Community Development Market Leader, this position will be responsible for:
- Managing scope, schedule and budget on assigned projects, preparing and distributing monthly invoicing and progress reports, and maintaining sufficient backlog for staff utilization
- Regularly communicating with clients, consultants, and design staff and attending functions or serving on committees with clients as needed
- Assisting clients with unforeseen needs to help advance projects or initiatives
- Mentoring and training less experienced staff and providing input on performance and development needs
- Identifying potential new clients and new opportunities with existing clients and drafting proposals which define scope, schedule, hours and fee
- Providing QA/QC and design guidance to junior level team members

We’re looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university
- 7+ years directly related experience
- PE certification and ability to obtain SC PE certification
- Experience with AutoCAD, Civil3D, MS Office and Google software
- Solid communication and presentation skills
- Experience preparing and designing construction and bidding documents and administering construction contracts
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize a variety of tasks under competing deadlines
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Work is primarily performed in an office environment with occasional travel to project sites for construction review and contract administration. Office work requires the ability to sit for prolonged periods of time at a desk working on a computer using hands to type and use a mouse, finger, handle and reach with hands or arms. Fieldwork involves exposure to weather, traffic, and loud noise and requires extensive walking over uneven surfaces and various terrains. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, copiers and scanners and is frequently required to talk, hear, stand or walk. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
