Landscape Architect/Designer

Duluth, GA, Fayetteville, GA, Charleston, SC or Rock Hill, SC

Keck & Wood, Inc. is currently seeking a Landscape Architect/Designer to join our Duluth, GA, Fayetteville, SC, Charleston, SC or Rock Hill, SC office to work on a variety of projects for public and private clients. Typical projects involve site/civil/landscape design for Streetscapes, Parks, Greenways, Recreation and Land Development. The Landscape Architect/Designer will work primarily in the office but will occasionally travel to project sites for site visits, etc. Field work may require working in inclement weather and walking extensively.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to perform in the role of Project Manager responsible for client and vendor relationships
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of multiple projects simultaneously
  • Conduct regular project reviews with the client through the preparation of status reports
  • Work with multi-disciplinary project teams, assisting in developing site design from concept through construction
  • Responsible for overseeing the budgets and timelines for each project
  • Analyze environmental reports on land conditions
  • Conduct code research
  • Prepare graphics, by hand and by computer, for design development, presentations and public process materials, including: sketch-up models, concept plans and diagrams, design studies, illustrative plans, cross sections and perspective sketches
  • Assist with conducting public meetings and workshops
  • Prepare layout and landscaping plans for Streetscapes
  • Prepare layout and landscaping plans for Parks & Recreations Facilities
  • Prepare layout and landscaping plans for Greenways
  • Prepare layout and parking studies for Land Development Projects
  • Conduct job site visits to check on the progress of projects and ensure specifications have been adhered
  • Produce construction documents: develop layout and material, grading, and planting plans and technical details, and write technical specifications
  • Assist in preparing estimates of probable construction costs
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture
  • 5-10 years of experience in landscape architecture
  • Registered Landscape Architect preferred
  • Strong freehand illustration and rendering skills
  • Experience with Photoshop, InDesign, Sketchup, GIS/ArcView and PowerPoint, Lumion, AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office is required
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Portfolio or work samples will be required if considered for an interview
