What You Will Do

We have an exciting opportunity for an engineer with solid experience in the design of water and wastewater systems who is ready to lead a team of professionals, and has the desire to help grow our business.  We’re looking for someone who enjoys being part of a collaborative team and is motivated by interacting with others to build professional relationships.  As our W/WW Market Leader, you will be responsible for supporting existing client relationships, collaborating to develop new business opportunities, and developing relationships to cultivate work with new clients. This position will report to the leader of our company-wide Utilities Practice with the opportunity of growing into the Practice Leader role and becoming a member of our leadership team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading and developing a team of staff professionals and subconsultants to complete projects and deliver excellent client service
  • Preparing proposals including scope, fee, schedule, and statement of qualifications
  • Identifying and winning new business opportunities with existing and new clients
  • Using reports and financial data to manage projects and team performance
  • Using and enforcing appropriate QA/QC and constructability review practices
  • Evaluating contracts for professional services and identifying risky language
  • Collaborating with clients to identify and apply for sources of grants and/or loans
  • Participating in professional organizations and presenting at conferences
  • Working closely with our corporate services team and other practice professionals

Minimum Attributes You Will Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Georgia PE license or the ability to obtain license within three months
  • Ten years + of progressive experience in water/wastewater engineering
  • Solid communication and presentation skills
  • Experience in the preparation of design, construction, and bidding documents and administering construction contracts
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills and strong knowledge of appropriate engineering, project management, spreadsheet, and word processing software
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize a variety of tasks under competing deadlines
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

How Can You Stand Out

  • Prior experience leading a high-performance engineering team
  • Proven track record of successful business/client development
  • Experience in water and/or wastewater treatment plant design
  • Experience with alternative delivery contracts (Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build, Construction Manager at Risk)
