(DULUTH, GEORGIA) The City of Doraville broke ground today on the $3.0M New Peachtree Road Livable Centers Initiative (LCI) Project to revitalize New Peachtree Road and three intersections including Park Avenue. This project will provide safety for pedestrians, as well as much needed landscape buffers and beautification features to accentuate this growing part of the city.

“I am happy we are finally starting this streetscape initiative that was first envisioned more than a decade ago. New Peachtree Road’s upcoming facelift is an important starting point for city council’s plans to rebuild downtown Doraville into a walkable, vibrant mixed-use amenity for both residents and visitors.” Stated Mayor Joseph Geierman in a recent article published by The Champion News.

The Keck & Wood Team is proud to be a part of this new chapter for Doraville. Building on a Conceptual Street Plan from 2010, the K+W team of civil engineers, planners, and landscape architects incorporated complete street design elements including bike lanes, sidewalks, planting buffers, street parking, and much-needed pedestrian intersection improvements.

“This project will provide additional safety for the residents and visitors of Doravillle, while enhancing visual and walkable connections within MARTA, Local Merchants, and City Hall. We are proud to provide our services to the city.” Said Sam Serio, PE and Project Leader from Keck + Wood.  

The project is targeted for completion in Summer of 2022.
