Thornwell Avenue Culverts Replacement
Keck & Wood was hired by the City of Rock Hill in April 2015 to provide turn-key services for design, permitting, bidding and construction administration for the replacement of four existing culvert crossings along Thornwell Avenue. These crossings were originally studied by Keck & Wood as part of the Stormwater Master Plan prepared for the city and were included in the resulting capital improvement projects list. The replacement culverts have been increased in size to better handle stormwater runoff and to reduce the risk of flooding in the neighborhood. Improvements were also made to the existing creek downstream of the culvert crossings as part of this project to improve flow characteristics.
